This project was a beautifully completed full home renovation in the heart of West Vancouver. The renovation began with a modern exterior design which included adding a third story and new garage space to the original two story bungalow. The design was equipped with a vision of high interior ceilings, pitched root lines, and an open concept layout with modern finishings. The main goal of the renovation was to provide a more functional home, adding a third story with two additional bedrooms and garage storage while incorporating an open, modern design to complement the unobstructed view of the ocean and Stanley Park. This concept was a huge transformation from the original standard, out-dated layout of the existing house.
The existing foundation foot print, basement wall studs, and original main floor joists were all that was left original in this extensive renovation scope. As the project commenced, the design team at VGC worked with our client on selecting certain design touches, materials, and custom built in units throughout the house with the goal in mind of a modern, open concept space. Each room in the house carries a consistent theme, which is focused on a bright white, contemporary feel. The design team added certain colour punches with accent tiles, a two-tone kitchen cabinet layout and custom lighting throughout the house.
